retirement home. But they loved it. And so did Pam. Not that she would dare perform that particular routine again, knowing what she knows today! Back then though we thought it was absolutely great. Like so many other enthusiastic student dancers, Pam's hunger for more and more knowledge remained unabated and Vern was being drawn deeper and deeper into her new world. Not that he minded at all. Going to haflahs, theatre productions, village fetes, carnivals and so-on to see Pam and her friends perform their marvelous routines was well worth any effort needed on his part. More often than not, there's generally a need for a backroom boy somewhere along the line. As time went on, we became more involved in the wider panorama of belly dancing, particularly here in the southwest. We were chatting to a well known South Devon teacher at that time who was having trouble maintaining her website and keeping it up to date, and she asked if we knew of anyone who could take a look at it for her. We did know of someone. Vern! Before very long, the site was rebuilt from scratch and has continued to be maintained, and now run, by Vern. And it led to the discovery of a rather remarkable fact. Wannabe belly dancers all over the region could not find or didn't know how to find a class or teacher near to where they lived. We were getting several e-mails a month asking us for help. Sometimes we were able to point the enquirer in the right direction but usually not. So the germ of an idea began to form. Build a new website designed to point students to teachers and classes, and vice versa. Hm.... Could be a lot of fun. And that is just what happened, plus a lot of frustration and a few tears on the way. It's taken us much longer than we originally envisaged but we think we've got there in the end. We hope you like our site and find it useful and, maybe, interesting. Feel free to drop us a line with any suggestions or comments you wish to make. In the meantime, keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep dancing!
